Description

Kieffer pears are large, hard pears that are great for cooking or for winter storage. They are greenish-yellow with a red blush and are coarse, crisp, and juicy. The pears ripen in mid fall. The tree requires 350 chill hours. It can self-pollinate or pollinate with the Orient Pear. Kieffer Pear trees are susceptible to blight. At maturity, it can reach a height between 15-20 feet and a width of 12-15 feet.
