Pear Trees – Shinseiki Online Hot Sale

Description
The Shinseiki Asian pear is round, medium to large, yellow smooth-skinned fruit with little or no russet. Crisp, creamy white flesh; mild, sweet with a hint of spice. The Shinseiki pears taste best when tree ripened. Hangs on the tree in good condition for 4-6 weeks so often requires multiple harvests during the season. The Shinseiki is an heirloom variety that was developed from two of the best Asian pears of our time in the 1940 s. It has moderate fireblight resistance. The Shinseiki Oriental Pear is of the deciduous variety that blooms in spring and ripens in mid-September. Covered with early-mid spring white blossoms that bear uniform fruit, this Asian pear prefers to have a strong central leader and tends to grow into a vertical oval if pruned properly. It will send high limbs vertically to create a rounded evergreen shape if left un-pruned. The average size of the mature tree is 10-15 feet high and 10-15 feet wide. The Shinseiki requires full sun and only occasional watering once established. Like most Asian pears, Shinseiki is partially self-fertile, but better crops will be obtained when a pollenizer is present.
